The Lancaster Smokehouse opened its doors on November 28th 2011 with a simple vision – keep it local, keep it fresh and ensure its homemade! We started from humble roots – learning the craft off BBQ Catering and competition BBQ in the 1990’s and 2000’s, we finally opened a small laid-back takeout joint called Hog Tails BBQ in 2009. Hog Tails featured Southern-style BBQ, po’ boys & seafood mains, and niche menu items with live blues music. Since then, we’ve expanded to The Lanc, and have grown to become the ‘go-to spot’ for mouth watering Southern BBQ and amazing experiences.
With our famous Lancaster Food Truck we deliver right to our customers’ doors while also offering catered events on-site at the Lanc Loft upstairs, as well as at your venue of choice! The launch of our new Lancaster Bakehouse has been a great success through the creativity and culinary skills of Master Baker Martha Borys!

Everyone at the Lancaster is proud of our culture and commitment to local food providers. All our meats are purchased from Ontario Farms, and we work with local growers for the freshest produce. We are committed to sourcing from our community, and work with area suppliers to provide Ontario products whenever possible – including our wide variety of Craft Beers and Wine!
In order to deliver authentic Southern cooking and flavours to our guests, it is imperative that we use real ingredients, inspired from the South – most of which are sourced directly from the Southern U.S. Our goal is to deliver the best Southern Cookin’ North of the Mason-Dixon Line! That’s what makes us authentic, and that’s what makes us different.
